Opening Bell is the first of three books in Three Seconds to Legend.

My Review:

Rating:  4/5 stars

This book is like sports entertainment on a page, only the story is better than the fluff they put on TV.

The story takes the reader into the world of women’s wrestling.  Leilana, the heroine, is a professional wrestler, who comes from a family with a rich history on the wrestling scene.  Leilana’s family is involved in a long feud with another wrestling family.  Along the way, tragedy struck Leilana’s family that ended the careers of her father and grandfather.  Leilana works hard at her career, despite her family’s concerns for her.  She enjoys being the heel.  She works hard and basks in the glory.  In the end, Leilana and her family get justice.

I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised.  The writing flows with ease.  The author doesn’t hold back with the fights and matches.

An enjoyable, no holds barred read.

About the Author

  1. B. Garner was born in Baltimore, MD on December 1, 1976, the youngest of three children. While still young, the family moved to Peachtree City, GA. His parents always encouraged his creative side and J. B. began writing and drawing from an early age. Though considered talented by his teachers, he never fully applied himself and bounced through high school and into college at the Georgia Institute of Technology. During his freshman year, his father died suddenly.

Grief and lack of purpose caused J. B. to drop out of school. If not for a few close friends, he might have dropped out of life as well. Taken in by his friends and given a second chance, J. B. matured, applied himself, and finally, after over a decade of hard work, is now back to doing what he loves the most: writing.
