An Interview with Sarah Castille

Please welcome Sarah Castille!

Sarah, I read in your bio that you are a lawyer with quite an impressive work history, before taking a break from law. Has writing always been something you’ve been interested in?

I’ve always been a writer, whether it was writing and illustrating stories with crayons, starting a school a newspaper, or contributing to fiction magazines and literary journals. I have boxes of stories that I just can’t part with, but it wasn’t until I took a break from legal practice that I was finally able to write a full novel. However, my favorite story is one I wrote for our local library story contest when I was ten years old about a lonely leprechaun who gave up his pot of gold when he met a pretty girl leprechaun who taught him how to fly. I like to think of it as my first romance!

You write some seriously dirty-talking alphas! Was there something in particular that has been an inspiration for writing your characters?

I’ve been inspired by the hundreds of romance books I read over the years and all the wonderful alpha heroes I met in those pages. I also met a lot of dirty talking alphas when the hubs and I went on motorcycle trips around Europe. They were some of the roughest men I’ve met with the filthiest mouths and yet they treated their women like gold!

Is there a particular genre of book that you consider your favorite?

I recently reorganized my massive Kindle collection and by far my erotic romance collection was the largest!

Nico is the start of a new series, Ruin & Revenge. What can readers expect from this new series?

Lots of dirty talking alpha mob bosses, kick ass heroines, the glitz and glam of Las Vegas and a dash of suspense along with some very spicy romance. I don’t pull any punches with life in the mob. Think the Sopranos, Godfather and Casino all rolled into one!

A lot of writers have quirks or rituals they follow when the write. Is there anything special you do to prepare for a writing session? Any must haves in your writing space?

Owls. Lots of little owls. A big cup of coffee in an owl mug. A window for daydreaming and a big cozy sweater because I can’t write if I’m cold.
